How summers go for launchers

Posted by on May 22, 2013 in Blog | 0 comments

Summertime is easy and breezy, right? Not when you are a company preparing for a new product/service introduction or company launch. Much preparation is needed for a successful debut and the time to start is at least three months before liftoff.  For marketing, there is website and content development, SEO, SEM, researching customer segments, focus groups/engaging potential customers, product pricing vs. fremium model, contacting beta testers, setting up customer service, refining product, meeting compliance standards and preparing marketing materials.

For public relations, there is writing a press kit (company backgrounder, executive bios, market analyst/press presentation, press release, beta customer quotes),  securing images of the product or service, setting up pre-briefs with key industry analysts and media and interviews with executives. Think of ways to immediately connect with your community. Have blog posts written ahead of time to begin posting at launch time on your site and industry market statistics to include in your press release.  Also, consider a monthly newsletter from your CEO, ghostwritten by a strong writer. Set up your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and Pinterest profiles and be ready to post every day with news of your introduction and feedback from your customers. Go to competitor sites and friend their followers.

Lots to do this summer so get going!
