What is it about jelly fish that so mesmerize us and whose exhibit at a city aquarium draws us closer? Is it their eerie beauty or slow movements that keep us gazing as they languidly move up and down in the ocean water?

Then there is a Zen quote – “Don’t push the river, it flows by itself” – that is yet another metaphor for looking for the meaning of life. And what do jelly fish and the Zen saying have in common? I think it is that life takes us on a series of waves and currents that we navigate but ultimately the experience is in the movement. Do we buoy in the salt water or get carried downstream in the river? Either way, we have a chance to enjoy the feelings that giving up control can bring us. Where are you headed?
